Digital Scavenger Hunts  – Are you looking for a new way to excite and engage your students while they work cooperatively? Participants in this course will learn to use handheld GPS units, mobile devices, and QR codes to create active, exciting learning events. Participants in this class will explore geocaching websites, mobile technologies, and other online resources. You’ll also have the opportunity to create your own digital scavenger hunt activities to use with your students.

Breakout EDU creates ultra-engaging learning games for people of all ages. Games (Breakouts) teach teamwork, problem solving, critical thinking, and troubleshooting by presenting participants with challenges that ignite their natural drive to problem-solve. Specialty K-12 Breakouts can be used to teach core academic subjects including math, science, history, language arts and have embedded standards that apply problem solving strategies within a real world OR collaborative context. Come learn how to play Breakout, to find and use pre-made games in your classroom, and how to create your own.

Technology Tools for Teaching – Looking for new and innovative ways to engage your students, gather formative assessment, and share student work? In the class we will explore some of the newer web services available to teachers and students and design ways to use them to create educational experiences in your classroom. Come learn to infuse these resources into your teaching!
